Where is the name derived from?

From ancient times, apple varieties are named after persons bearing relation to the place of its origination. Baron von Hallberg-Broich (1768-1862) was a colourful personality full of restlessness and drive. Ambitious and adventurous, and despite of resistance, he succeeded in draining the land of the today’s territory of Hallbergmoos, in reclaiming the land, and building first houses for the settlers. In 1831, the new town became an independant community.
So the breeder, grown-up himself in Hallbergmoos, named the new variety ‘Hallberg® in the honor of the founder of Hallbergmoos. Karl Theodor Maria Hubert Isidor Baron von Hallberg-Broich was an outstanding personality – and in the same way the apple variety named after him stands out from the diverse apple varieties due to its convincing flavor quality!

What makes this variety a special apple?

Unforgettable! There are lots of apple varieties. But only few are kept in mind once they have been eaten. One of them is ‘Hallberg®’.

Forever white! If you cut the fruit into slices, they never turn brown but stay white and do not oxidise. The slices stay appetising!

Small core! The core of the apple is particularly small. So your customers will have more fruit!

Crisp! The fruits of ‘Hallberg®’ have a firm fruit flesh, but are not too firm. They are crisp and juicy.

Aromatic! The juice is highly aromatic and sparkling on the tongue.

Full of character! The base of its success is the sweetness of its fruits which is combined with a pleasant acid. Your customers will appreciate it soon!
